Our four products

Which one you need

Vision, Explainer video, 60 to 90 seconds

From NZ$8,000

Excluding GST

An explainer film for a complicated product and a viewer who has never heard of it.

Most clients add cutdowns, shorter versions with their own hooks and calls to action, so one film runs a whole campaign.

  • Message and script, written with you
  • Original design and animation, no stock templates
  • Voiceover and music
  • Two revision rounds at each stage: script, moodboard, storyboard, animation
Crossware explainer video

Cutdowns, longer films, filming and actors cost extra. We quote them before we start.

Lift, Promo or campaign video, 30 to 45 seconds

From NZ$4,000

Excluding GST

A shorter film built for one message and one moment, like a launch, an event or an ad campaign.

  • One message, defined before we animate
  • Two or three cutdowns of 6 to 30 seconds for the channels you name
  • Voiceover and music
  • One revision round at each stage: script, moodboard, storyboard, animation

“What stood out most was how quickly they got what we were trying to do… The final videos don’t just explain our product - they tell our story in a way that connects with our audience.”

Gau Kurman, Google review

Still working out what your product should say? That’s where Vision starts.

Cadence, Monthly social media video content

From NZ$3,500

A month, excluding GST

Cadence is a monthly content subscription, in two levels: we make your content, or we make it and run it for you.

Content

from NZ$3,500 a month

We plan and make your content. Your team posts it.

Every month: a content plan, copy and captions, design, animation and short videos, and files sized for each channel.

For example: 12 posts (8 short videos up to 15 seconds and 4 carousels). Or, instead of the 12 posts, up to 45 seconds of animation in total.

Content and delivery

from NZ$5,000 a month

We also post it on your channels and run your paid ads, so your monthly report can show results.

For example: 12 Instagram posts (8 short videos up to 15 seconds and 4 carousels), with Meta ads running alongside.

On both levels:

  • No minimum term. Stop any time with 4 weeks’ notice
  • One-off set-up, the same as your monthly fee: we learn your brand and voice, then build your content strategy, content pillars and visual style
  • You see and approve the whole month before anything posts
  • A monthly report and strategy meeting

Your first month is the set-up fee plus your first monthly fee: from NZ$7,000 on Content and from NZ$10,000 on Content and delivery. After that, it’s the monthly fee only.

For more than the monthly volume, see what else we can make for you, below.

Aspect PT: LinkedIn impressions from 68 to 4,650 in the first month

Aspect PT social video ad

We agree the volume in writing before you start. Ad spend is paid separately, at the level you set.

Flow, Logo animation, 6 to 8 seconds

From NZ$1,900

Excluding GST

A motion identity: how your logo, type and brand move, built once and reused across your channels.

  • Your logo animated, delivered as an MP4 video and GIF files
  • A version with a transparent background, to place over your own videos
  • One revision round at each stage: concept, storyboard, animation

“They transformed my already great logo into a living, moving, being. It is eye catching, classy and memorable. Their creativity exceeded my high expectations.”

Grant Southam, Google review
Work we’ve made: Nokia logo animation

We animate the brand identity you already have.

If what you need doesn’t fit neatly into one of these, we’ll talk it through on the call and send you a written proposal.

What’s included in every price

Every project quote we send is one number for the whole job. On an explainer, the message, the script, the original design, the animation, the voiceover and the music are all inside it. We make or arrange every part.

One creative lead on every project

The same person directs your project from brief to delivery, so the style and message stay consistent. It’s also why we limit how much work we take on at once. If you have a date to hit, tell us before we write your proposal. It will say whether we can make it.

We keep your project files

When your product changes, we update the video from the original project files instead of rebuilding it. Ask us for a change a year later and we still have everything it was made from.

A written scope before you pay anything

Deliverables, revision rounds and dates, in writing, before we raise an invoice. If it isn’t in the scope you approved, we can’t bill you for it later.

Dates, once we know the scope

Your proposal gives a real date for each stage. How long a piece takes depends on its scope and on how quickly feedback comes back. Storyboard sign-off is the milestone the rest of the schedule hangs on.

Revision rounds at every stage

Two rounds at each stage on Vision, and one at each stage on Lift and Flow. On Vision and Lift, the script, moodboard, storyboard and animation each get their own rounds. Changes cost little at the script stage and a lot once it’s animated, so we put the rounds where they help. Your proposal states the number of rounds. Cadence works differently: you see and approve a full month of content before anything posts.

How payment works

Half to start and half on delivery. Larger projects usually pay in stages instead, with the dates in your proposal. Cadence is invoiced in advance: the set-up first, then at the start of each month, with 7 days to pay.

Every quote is in New Zealand dollars, excluding GST. That goes for Australian clients too.

The price you approve is the price you pay

If you ask for something outside the written scope, we tell you what it costs before we do it, and you decide. If we underestimated the work, we absorb it.

What else we can make for you

Once we’ve made something for you, we reuse its style and assets to make more, so you’re not starting from scratch. We quote each piece to what you need.

We can add to any of these: filming, voiceover, music and captions. We can also make versions in other languages, and stills for your marketing.

You have a video and want more people to watch it.

  • Cutdowns and ad versions with different hooks, 6 to 30 seconds
  • Retargeting ads for people who watched your video or visited your site
  • Your founder’s and executives’ LinkedIn posts, boosted as Thought Leader ads
  • LinkedIn document and carousel ads

Buyers compare you with others, often before they talk to your sales team.

  • Customer story videos: a client tells the result in their own words, 60 to 90 seconds
  • Sales demos of 2 to 5 minutes, or short demos of one feature, 60 to 90 seconds
  • Clickable product tours that buyers explore on their own, 5 to 13 steps
  • Data stories: your numbers turned into a short video, 30 to 60 seconds
  • Sales decks and brochures

Customers ask the same questions, or sign up and stall.

  • How-to and onboarding videos, up to 90 seconds each
  • Training videos for your team, customers or partners, up to 90 seconds each
  • Email nurture videos, up to 90 seconds each, and GIFs of 3 to 6 seconds
  • Product update videos for release notes and ‘what’s new’ emails, 15 to 60 seconds
  • Animations for your website or app, delivered as Lottie files

You want every video and email to look like it came from you.

  • Animated email signatures, 6 to 12 seconds
  • Intro and outro animations for your videos, to the length you need
  • A motion brand kit: transitions and text styles your team reuses

You have a date and need people to notice.

  • Founder and launch videos, up to 90 seconds
  • Short reels, up to 15 seconds each
  • Clips from your webinars, podcasts and events, 30 to 90 seconds each
  • Full podcast edits
  • Animated display ads and digital billboards
  • Event designs: summit logos, conference walls, banners

Is MoveUp a good fit for you?

We’re a good fit if your product takes some explaining and you want work that lasts past launch day.

We might not be the right fit yet if:

  • You need a video to bring in sales on its own this month. What you get back grows the longer you use it.
  • You want us to run ads for you but don’t have an ad budget yet.
  • You’re still deciding if content is worth it for your business. We’re happy to talk that through when you’re ready.

Why we show our prices

We publish our prices because hiding them wastes your time. Many studios won’t give you a number until you’ve had a call. We’d rather you saw ours first. Then the call is about whether we’re the right fit, not about the price.

It also means you can rule us out without a meeting. If these numbers don’t work for you, you know now, not after two calls and a proposal.

Why do your prices say ‘from’?

Each MoveUp Studio price is a starting price for the scope listed with it. Five things move it up:

  • The length
  • How settled your message is
  • How much has to happen on screen
  • Whether your brand assets and product screens already exist
  • How many versions you need

We give you the exact number in writing before anything starts.

How much does animation or motion graphics cost per minute?

We price each video, not each minute. MoveUp Studio in Auckland prices an explainer video of 60 to 90 seconds from NZ$8,000 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). A promo video of 30 to 45 seconds starts at NZ$4,000. A logo animation of 6 to 8 seconds starts at NZ$1,900. Longer videos are quoted from the script, as one fixed number, before anything starts.

How much does an explainer video cost in New Zealand?

At MoveUp Studio in Auckland, an explainer video of 60 to 90 seconds starts at NZ$8,000 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). That covers the message, script, design, animation, voiceover and music. We make or arrange all of it.

Prices across New Zealand vary a lot. The gap usually comes down to scope. Some explainers are put together from templates. Others are designed for you, around a message we work out together. They share a name, but they’re different products. Ask what’s included, how many revision rounds you get, and who is animating it.

More about Vision explainer videos

How much does a 2-minute video cost?

A 2-minute video from MoveUp Studio in Auckland costs more than our explainer of 60 to 90 seconds, which starts at NZ$8,000 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). A longer video needs more script, design and animation, so we quote it from the script.

Most explainer videos we make run 60 to 90 seconds. That’s usually long enough for one clear message. If there are two things to explain, two minutes can be the right length, and the price is still one fixed number.

How much does a 3-minute video cost?

MoveUp Studio in Auckland quotes a 3-minute video from the script. It starts above the NZ$8,000 price of an explainer of 60 to 90 seconds (excluding GST, September 2026 prices). That is long for an explainer, and we’ll push back. A viewer who leaves at 90 seconds never sees the last third you paid for. Sometimes a conference slot or a training course sets the length, and then we build it for that.

How much does a 30-second promo video cost?

At MoveUp Studio in Auckland, a promo video of 30 to 45 seconds starts at NZ$4,000 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). Some call it a campaign video, a brand video or a video ad. You get one message with voiceover and music. You also get two or three cutdowns of 6 to 30 seconds for the channels you name.

It costs less than an explainer because the message is already decided. The design and animation are just as good. If the message is agreed and needs to land in a paid channel or at an event, this is the right product. If nobody has settled the message yet, that work comes first, and it belongs in Vision.

How much does a logo animation cost in New Zealand?

A logo animation of 6 to 8 seconds from MoveUp Studio in Auckland starts at NZ$1,900 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). It sets how your logo and brand move, and you reuse it across your channels.

It’s the quickest way to start working with us. It’s a one-off build, so there’s nothing to renew.

How much does a social media video package cost?

Cadence, the social media video package from MoveUp Studio in Auckland, starts at NZ$3,500 a month excluding GST (September 2026 prices). At that level we plan and make your content, and your team posts it. From NZ$5,000 a month, we also post it for you and run your paid ads. Each level has a one-off set-up that costs the same as its monthly fee. There’s no minimum term, and you can stop any time with 4 weeks’ notice. Ad spend is paid separately.

How much does video production cost in Auckland?

MoveUp Studio is a motion design studio in Auckland, New Zealand. Our explainer videos of 60 to 90 seconds start at NZ$8,000 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). A promo video of 30 to 45 seconds starts at NZ$4,000. Cadence is our monthly social media video content. It starts at NZ$3,500 a month, plus a set-up fee. A logo animation of 6 to 8 seconds starts at NZ$1,900. You pay for the thinking as well as the animation and video. Filming costs extra.

When you compare quotes, ask each studio the same three questions. What exactly is included? How many revision rounds do you get? What happens if the scope changes? Those answers separate quotes better than the headline figure.

Is it cheaper to hire a motion graphics designer or use a studio?

A full-time motion designer in Auckland costs a salary, plus tools and hiring. They take months to get up to speed, and you manage them. MoveUp Studio’s Cadence starts at NZ$3,500 a month excluding GST (September 2026 prices), plus a one-off set-up. That buys a set amount of finished content, with no minimum term.

A good in-house designer beats us on speed of reply and on knowing your product. Once you have enough work to keep one busy every week, hire one. Below that, you pay a salary for time you don’t use. A subscription covers the gap. We’ll tell you when you’ve outgrown it.

What happens on the 30-minute call?

You tell us what you’re trying to explain and who needs to understand it. We tell you which product you need. If we’re right for the job, we send a written proposal with the scope, dates and a fixed price.

Do you use AI?

Yes, behind the scenes, the same way we use any production tool. The message, script and creative direction come from our team, and you approve every stage before we move on.

How long does it take to make an animated video?

It depends on the scope and on how quickly your team reviews each stage. Your written proposal sets a date for every stage before we start.

Can we use the finished video anywhere?

Yes, on your own channels, in ads and at events, once the final invoice is paid. We license the music for you. Planning TV or cinema? Tell us first, so the licences cover it. We keep the project files, so later changes start from the originals.

How much does an explainer video cost in Australia?

For Australian companies, a MoveUp Studio explainer video of 60 to 90 seconds starts at NZ$8,000 excluding GST (September 2026 prices). We quote and invoice Australian clients in New Zealand dollars, on the same four products.

The New Zealand dollar is worth less than the Australian dollar. So the same figure usually costs you less in AUD. Australia’s east coast is 2 to 3 hours behind Auckland.

What if we need another revision round?

We tell you what it costs before we start it, and you decide. Your proposal states how many rounds are included at each stage, so you always know where you stand.

Do you price differently for agencies?

Yes. We agree rates with each agency separately. You brief us on the same four products. The work carries your branding, not ours.

We don’t go direct to your client, and we’ll put that in a signed agreement.

You now know what we cost. That’s the hard part done.

Bring the thing you’re trying to explain.
